Our Messy World!

Yesterday some people that work at Kelly Tarltons came to Glen Taylor School to show the middle school how different sea creatures suffer and die! They die by plastic and our rubbish! Especially turtles, they think that the plastic bags are jelly fish because the plastic back floats! We also saw that one of the people that work there picked up almost a whole jar of rubbish just in 5 minutes! They showed us the skeletons of some sea creatures like a shark, stingrays, starfish and a whole lot of other interesting, fascinating things!

Today I was exploring kiwi kids news and found this interesting article call Threw massive canyons found in Antarctica.

Making GTS best playdough!

We made playdough with Miss Wrack and I was in group 1. We all decided to do method 2. It was easy but felt weird at first. Our group thinks this is a good recipe. It's smooth, not edible but really fun to play with! We used lots of salt and even if it was edible it would still be super salty. I think method 2 is the best because it doesn't involve to much hard work because group 3 had to boil water and it took up lot's of their time playing with it and writing a summary about it.

Our Trip To Rangitoto Island.

Year 3 and 4 went on a trip to Rangitoto. It was a really fun trip. The people in my group was Vaiola, Savannah and our helpers were Stephanie and Carrie. They helped us on the way up the mountain and down the mountain. We found lot's of birds and we took about an hour to get up the mountain. we went to the lava caves and we saw a lot of fascinating lava rocks. There were ones that were still hot because of the sun.

Room 7 each got a teacher and wrote a simile about them i got Mrs Faalili. Mrs Faalili reminded me of a butterfly.

The Solar System

The solar system is made of stars and planets. The sun is the biggest star but maybe it’s not though. Did you know that Earth is the only planet with people on it. All the other planets don’t have people,oxygen or gravity.Saturn has a ring around it and on the ring there are rocks and dust orbiting around the planet Saturn like the other planets orbiting the sun. Mercury is the hottest planet but not hotter than the sun.Venus is the second hottest planet. Earth is a planet of light and life. We give plants carbon dioxcide and plants give us oxygen. No one would survive if anyone got close enough to touch the sun. The earth is blue and green because of the sea and sky and the grass and plants. If we didn’t have water or plants we would die. There are lot’s of rocks and dust and mountains on the other planets except Earth.

Trip Thank You Card

Room 7,11 and 12 went to the Maritime Museum and we were all in groups. Each group had a parent looking after them or a teacher. I was with Jayde's mum Mrs.Ellison. So now Room 7 is making thank you cards for the parents that came and looked after us while we were at the trip  to the trip with us.

 I was making this blog post about different kinds of foods. I had fun making this blog post. Jayde did one on her blog too. She helped me while making it.     

Going On A Ferry At Maritime Museum.

On  Tuesday the 29th of August Room 7,11,12 went on a ferry and went to the Maritime Museum.

When we got on the ferry Shemeel the man who was taking care of us in the museum said ‘’Sit down for 5 minutes and then we could explore the rest of the ferry later.’’ When me and my group went to the top of the ferry it was very hot. And when the boat turned we went to the side it turned. The first time it happened we didn’t know it was going to happen.

Lily, Jayde, Maletina, Ocean and I asked Jayde’s mum if we could go on the top of the ferry and she said ‘’Yes.’’ We were super excited and when we got to the top it was scary at first then it wasn’t anymore. When the person who was driving said ‘’Hold on everyone we are going full speed.’’ We all held on after a while but at first me an Vaiola didn’t. It was super fast and whenever we talked lots and lots of air got into ours mouths SUPER fast. But when we got closer to the Harbour Bridge we slowed down after the LONG but very exciting time on a ferry i got SUPER TIRED.
